Three reasons golfers choose Padang Golf Sukajadi

An authentic Thomson-designed course, the stay-and-play and MICE capability of the on-site Radisson, and a prime central location. It is a destination where golf and business or a stay go hand in hand.

  1. Designed by Thomson, Wolveridge & Perrett — a beautiful yet strategic 18-hole, par-72 layout woven from gently rolling terrain, water features and Salam Seashore Paspalum turf.
  2. Stay & play / MICE with the on-site Radisson — a 240-room hotel and convention centre on site, ideal for golf packages with accommodation and corporate events.
  3. Excellent central access — about 15 minutes from the airport and about 10 minutes from Batam Centre ferry terminal. Convenient for a day trip from Singapore or a round on a business trip.

Location & access (day trip possible from Singapore)

Padang Golf Sukajadi sits in the heart of Batam City (Batam Kota). Batam Island is one of the closest golf destinations to Singapore: take a ferry from Singapore (HarbourFront and others) to Batam Centre, then it is about 10 minutes to the course. A round-trip day of golf in half a day to a full day is entirely possible (note: Batam is one hour behind Singapore). About 15 minutes from Hang Nadim International Airport and about 10 minutes from downtown, it enjoys one of Batam’s best central locations—handy for a round between business meetings.

Getting around the island is easy by rental car, taxi, or ride-hailing services such as Grab and Gojek. Staying at the on-site Radisson Golf & Convention Center Batam lets you handle golf, accommodation and meetings in one place. Don’t forget your passport (and a visa if required), and since ferries are busy at weekends, book your return crossing early.

Rolling terrain and water features at Padang Golf Sukajadi

Course design (Thomson, Wolveridge & Perrett) and signature holes

Padang Golf Sukajadi is a championship-standard 18-hole, par-72 course designed by the world-renowned firm Thomson, Wolveridge & Perrett (later renovated by PT. Flora Tjipta Sarana). Measuring 6,340 metres from the championship tees, its four tees—Black / Blue / White / Red—suit a wide range of abilities. Gently rolling terrain and several water hazards create varied, never-monotonous play that demands careful strategy on every shot. The fairways and greens use Salam Seashore Paspalum, resilient to salt and the tropical climate, for smooth, fast playing surfaces.

The par-4 6th (signature hole) is the standout: 305 metres from the blue tee, an uphill green framed by trees with bunkers on both sides, combining visual beauty with technical difficulty. The 15th is also known as one of the course’s most challenging holes, where the elevation changes of the hills, water features and bunker placement are key to scoring.

A memorable golf experience

A round at Padang Golf Sukajadi blends Thomson’s strategic layout with the convenience of a central-city location. The gently rolling terrain and water features, the fast Salam Seashore Paspalum greens, and tackling the signature 6th and 15th—then relax at the spa or a restaurant afterwards, and by staying at the Radisson you can seamlessly combine golf, business and sightseeing. From a round between meetings to a corporate tournament or a day trip from Singapore, it meets a wide range of needs.

Sightseeing nearby and enjoying Batam

Thanks to its central location, the Nagoya district, full of shopping and dining, is easily reached. Batam’s own highlights—the Barelang Bridge linking the islands and seafront seafood restaurants—are also close, making for a weekend getaway that combines golf with sightseeing and food.

What to know before you play

  • Round trip from Singapore: book your ferry to Batam Centre early for both directions. Passport essential.

  • Best season: playable year-round. The drier months (roughly May–September) offer more stable conditions.
