Updated: 27 October 2026

[Important notice] Matoa National Golf Course has been closed since 12 April 2021. When we checked again on 27 October 2026, we found no announcement that it will reopen.

After the management agreement for the course ran out and turned into a dispute, the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU), which owns the land, closed the access road to the course. This page is kept as a record of the course. The course cannot be played and cannot be booked.

Matoa National Golf Course (also known as Padang Golf Matoa Nasional) was an 18-hole golf course in Ciganjur, Jagakarsa district, South Jakarta. It opened in 1995 on about 60 hectares of land owned by the Indonesian Air Force and was one of the golf courses in the southern part of Jakarta. It has not operated since April 2021. If you want to play golf in South Jakarta today, Pondok Indah Padang Golf and Padang Golf Pangkalan Jati are the nearest options (see below).

Why Matoa National Golf Course closed

The course was built and run by PT Saranagraha Adisentosa (PT SAS) under an agreement signed in 1993 with the Indonesian Air Force cooperative, Induk Koperasi TNI AU (INKOPAU). The agreement ended in March 2021 and the two sides did not agree on an extension. The Air Force took the position that PT SAS’s right to manage the course had expired. PT SAS argued that the agreement allowed a five-year extension and would only end in 2026. On Monday, 12 April 2021, the Air Force closed the access road to the course. The operator had already taken the case to the South Jakarta District Court and asked for the course to be reopened, but the course has not operated since the closure.

What has happened since 2021

PT SAS filed its lawsuit against INKOPAU at the South Jakarta District Court on 4 March 2021. The case was registered as No. 241/Pdt.G/2021/PN JKT.SEL, and a decision under that number is cited in a law thesis at Diponegoro University. We could not find the full text of the ruling, or any later appeal, in public sources, so we do not state the outcome here.

As of 27 October 2026 we found no announcement that the course will reopen, and no public information on what the land is used for now. On Google Maps the place is still labelled “Temporarily closed”. Some golf directories and booking sites still list Matoa as if it were open, but those listings have not been updated since the closure.
