South Jakarta (Jakarta Selatan) has two 18-hole golf courses you can play: Pondok Indah Padang Golf and Padang Golf Pangkalan Jati. For range practice, golfers mostly use Cilandak Marinir Driving Range, on a Marine Corps compound, and Seskoal Driving Range, on the grounds of a Navy staff college. This article covers where these four are and what they offer.

Pondok Indah Padang Golf
A championship 18-hole course on Jl. Metro Pondok Indah, in the upscale Pondok Indah neighbourhood at the heart of South Jakarta. It opened in 1976 and was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. It hosted the Golf World Cup in 1983.

Padang Golf Pangkalan Jati
An 18-hole course at Jl. Jati Indah Raya No.1, Cinere, South Jakarta. It opened on 31 December 1988, covers about 40 hectares and measures just under 6,500 yards from the men’s tees. The back nine crosses the provincial border into Depok, West Java. The nearest exits on the JORR (Jakarta Outer Ring Road) are Cipete and Fatmawati.

Driving ranges in South Jakarta
Cilandak Marinir Driving Range
Located at Jl. Raya Cilandak KKO No.22, Cilandak Timur, inside a compound of the Indonesian Marine Corps (Marinir). It opened in 2017 and has 56 bays, plus chipping and putting areas, a golf simulator, a café and a pro shop. More on the Cilandak Marinir Driving Range page.
Seskoal Driving Range
Located at Jl. Ciledug Raya No.1, Cipulir, Kebayoran Lama, on the grounds of the Indonesian Navy Staff and Command College (Seskoal). It has 48 bays facing a 300-metre field, along with a practice bunker, a chipping area and a golf simulator. More on the Seskoal Driving Range page.

Matoa National Golf Course, closed in 2021
Matoa National Golf Course in Ciganjur, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, closed on 12 April 2021. The 18-hole course opened in 1995 on land owned by the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU). The management agreement between the operator and the Air Force cooperative (INKOPAU) expired in March 2021 and its renewal became the subject of a dispute. The Air Force said the contract had ended and blocked the road to the course. It has not been playable since.

Golf courses elsewhere in Jakarta

Getting there
Get around by company car or your own car, or use ride-hailing apps such as Grab and Gojek. Traffic in Jakarta changes a lot by time of day, and an early tee time lets you finish the drive before the morning rush.
